Because of the bad weather in September and November I had only one night to test the mount.
The workmanship is very good, the mount runs very smoothly and has no problem with the long 9.5 kg refractor. Even light wind does not disturb. Guiding was perfect at an average of 0.4\".
NINA recognises the mount via AscomOnstep without any problems, only settings such as the guiding speed can only be made via the smartphone app (here it would be great and more future-proof if this also worked via the Ascom driver itself).
All in all, the mount is a perfect mobile setup; a comparable classic mount would be many times heavier and more unwieldy.

I was looking for a new mount and wanted to have a strainwave one, but i found all of them quite expensive. While researching the internet i stumbled apon Proxisky and there UMI mounts. At first i was sceptical, but after reading a lot of forum posts with happy costumers, i went for it.

And im happy that i did!

From ordering, till i recived the 17R, it took around 5 to 6 weeks. There are no \"hidden\" costs or customs fees (i live in germany). The package was well packaged, no damages. The 17R comes with a hardcase padded with hard foam, needed cables and a manual.

The mounthead feels and looks really good and well made. I got it with the tripod and pier extension. Build up was easy and the setup is rigid. On the website you find some more manuals for N.I.N.A.and PHD (this is how i connect to the mount, the app workes fine too).

First test right out of the box i had guiding around 0.7 - 0.8 with default PHD settings.
Second tests with the recommended settings i had guiding around 0.5. It even went down to 0.3 - 0.4 sometimes.

But the best thing about Proxisky is the customer support! You can join there Discord channel. There is a active helpful community, that answers all your questions. And of course the Proxisky team is there too. They are quick to answer and helpful. You can even post your guidelogs and they will help you improve.

To be fair, i post this after only a few nights with the mount and i dont know how the long term running will be. But there is a two year warranty on the mounts and until now i havent heard about anybody having major problems with them.

Right now im happy to have found a cheaper alternative to the major strainwave mounts, that performs really well and satisfies my needs.

Fantastic strain wave mount. High quality machining. Silent slewing. Support is excellent through discord. Can be operated by wifi/bluetooth/usb but they can clash so suggest just pick one and stick to it. Great product

Incredible mount!!
No noise during the go-to, fasntastic quality of the materials, very good packaging (hard case and foam), very light but at the same time, very robust.... You carry it anywhere easily!!

I recently received my UMi 17R FRAM and have now had a chance to try it out for a few nights. It has completely exceeded my expectations so far.

Build quality seems superb, fit and finish are top notch and most important of all, it performs great. It was super easy to assemble and set up with the provided instructions and has worked great from night one even with basically stock recommended settings, without having to tweak PHD2 to find the optimal value for each of the settings.

Coming from using an EQ6R Pro previously, the one thing that has surprised me the most is how incredibly quiet the UMi 17R is during operation, it\'s almost completely silent. And the E-home function has already proven to be a great addition as it makes resuming from a power loss way more convenient and worry-free.

All in all this is genuinely a great mount and at an incredibly competitive price, can\'t recommend it enough.
